Daniel B. Odess
Daniel B. Odess is Founder & President of GlobalPro Recovery, a construction and insurance specialty firm located in Coral Gables. Odess holds an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering, a Masters degree in Construction Management and is a Licensed General Contractor and Insurance Agent in the State of Florida as well as a Licensed Public Adjuster in various states throughout the US and US Territories. Odess has more than a decade of construction experience and has managed nearly $1 billion dollars of commercial and residential remodeling and new construction for two of ENR’s top contractors, making him uniquely qualified to oversee GlobalPro Recovery in all of its facets. Odess has also collectively adjusted, appraised, and served as an expert witness in thousands of insurance claims assisting community associations, business owners, and homeowners recover from a wide variety of property and business income losses. Odess maintains a strong commitment to the community and was appointed to the Board of Directors for the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce and Executive Board for the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce. He also serves on the Miami‐Dade Local Advisory Board for BB&T, one of the largest financial services holding companies in the U.S. Odess is also a frequent contributing writer to numerous industry publications including Property Casualty 360, Condo Management Magazine, Claims Magazine, Florida Community Association Journal and The Florida Real Estate Journal. In addition, he has been interviewed as an insurance expert for multiple media outlets including CBS, USA Today, Bankrate.com, Florida Trend and the Miami Herald.
Craig Applebaum is a member of the Florida Bar, and before joining GlobalPro in 2016, he litigated in the fields of complex commercial litigation and catastrophic personal injury. Craig is an integral part of the day-to-day operations for GlobalPro, and has settled numerous multi-million-dollar insurance claims for our clients. Additionally, as GlobalPro’s General Counsel, and advises the company on a wide variety of business and legal matters. Craig received his Bachelor of Sciences from Florida State University, and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law. Craig also had the distinguished opportunity to serve as a judicial clerk for the Honorable John Thornton Jr. in Miami’s Complex Business Litigation Division. In his spare time, Craig is the Director of The Social and Emotional Learning Foundation (“SELF”), a non-profit organization dedicated to funding social and emotional learning in education.
Allison Freidin was born and raised in Miami, Florida where her family has resided for three generations. She obtained a Bachelors of Science in Communications and American Studies from University of Miami. Allison went on to attend law school at the University of Miami where she graduated cum laude and was credited for her research and writing in the University of Pennsylvania Law Review, Erasmus Law Review, and International Review of Law & Economics. Allison gained corporate in-counsel experience working at Lennar, a publicly traded corporation on the NYSE. After being admitted to the Florida Bar in 2010, Allison went to work in political fundraising and marketing in order to help secure the passage of two Florida constitutional amendments. At the close of this successful political campaign, Allison joined the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office as a prosecutor in 2011 and quickly rose in the ranks until she was assigned to the Anti-Gun Task Force, which used federal grant money to prevent future violent crime in Miami’s most dangerous communities. Allison was cross-designated with the Miami-Dade Police Department and her success in this government position was widely documented by a variety of news outlets until she left the position in 2017. Allison joined GlobalPro Recovery shortly thereafter and has already succeeded in the recovery of millions of dollars for our clients. Allison remains an active member of Miami’s legal community and holds a position on the University of Miami’s Advisory Board for the Center of Ethics and Public Service.
August Forte has represented thousands of policyholders as an adjuster and loss appraiser. In 2011, ready for a career change, August decided to join GlobalPro Recovery in order to expand his skill sets. He has thrived in this new environment, relishing the opportunity to work on multi-million claims. Always striving to better himself, he has also received over one hundred hours in continuing education. Impressively, August has also been able to successfully hold the title of project manager at other construction jobs while maintaining his position at GlobalPro. During this time he was able to gain new skills and better understand potential issues that could arise during the construction process which has been extremely helpful as he writes repair estimates for GlobalPro on a daily basis. August has been a public adjuster for over 9 years and still continues to grow each and every day with the help of his entire team at GlobalPro.
Joshua Bochner was born and raised in Miami, Florida, and is a third-generation native of Miami. He attended Indiana University where he graduated earning his Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications with a minor in Business Marketing from the Kelley School of Business. Mr. Bochner returned to Miami for law school, obtaining his juris doctor, cum laude, from St. Thomas University School of Law in 2014. During law school, he was a research assistant, a member and competitor on the Mock Trial team, and Dean’s List recipient. Mr. Bochner also enjoyed a judicial internship for a Miami-Dade County Circuit Court Judge. Mr. Bochner focused his practice on commercial and probate litigation. Mr. Bochner also handled a number of broker commission/procuring cause cases. His practice involved all aspects of trial litigation, including mediation, arbitration, bench and jury trials. He is admitted to practice in the State of Florida.
